Kyla was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and escaped to Topanga, CA throughout her youth where she loved creating art, dancing and enjoying the beauty of nature amongst friends. Upon leaving Los Angeles and earning her Bachelor of Science Business degree at California Polytechnic University, in San Luis Obispo, Kyla dedicated the next decade of her life working with socially-responsible businesses and non profits: Bonny Doon Vineyard, Oakland Youth Chorus and the ReDirect Guide, to name a few. Working extremely hard and saving funds, she was able to travel throughout the world to such countries as Colombia, Ecuador and Spain (ella puede hablar español), where she further explored art, dance and environmental studies.
Having a close-knit family, and ailing matriarchs that required care, always pulled Kyla to return to the City of Angels. It was during her most recent move back in 2012 that she rediscovered her love of painting and found “home” for her creative process at the Topanga Art Imaginarium.
Amongst supportive artists, the Imaginarium helped her expand her love and aptitude for painting animals. After 4 years of creating mostly gifts for family members, with an emphasis on their pets, she turned her focus to the public. Her pet portraits are now sought after and commissioned across the nation. Please click here to learn more about having your beloved pets' portrait hand-painted specifically to your design wishes.
